Masters in International Event Management (MIEM)

The Masters in International Event Management (MIEM) is the response to demand for higher level education and training in the planning and management of events that have lasting impact on regional economy and environment.

This programme has been designed to give participants the necessary bredth and depth of knowledge to gain employment and to advance their career success within the International Events Industry. It focuses on examining and managing the key factors, tendencies and techniques for the effective and profitable management of international events. It will emphasize the development and application of conceptual skills and analytical tools while utilizing action learning principles.

The Programme aims to:

  • Improve International Event Management skills and standards for sports in the Caribbean.
  • Develop knowledge, understanding and management skills relevant to the planning, organisation and operation of events in the Caribbean and international context.
  • Work along with industry experts to ensure that the knowledge gained from large international events, such as Cricket World Cup 2007 is incorporated and inform the training of Event planners in the Caribbean.
  • Enhance the professional competence of existing practitioners in the international Event Industry.
