The UWI Cave Hill School of Business kick-starts a series of major conferences with the Public Sector Conference, to be held on September 21st and 22nd at the Hilton Barbados, from 9am until 4:00pm daily.
Featuring a star-studded lineup of speakers led by Barbados’ Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, the Hon. Christopher Sinckler, the conference will also feature a presentation by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure,Port Services and Transport of St.Lucia, the Hon.Philip J. Pierre among other notable presenters which include Anthony Sobers, Chief Programme Manager of The Productivity Council and Executive Director and CEO of CAPAM Gay Hamilton.
The conference is held in collaboration with CAPAM, the Caribbean Leadership Project and the Management Institute for National Development (MIND), and carries the theme “Overcoming the Implementation Deficit: From Planning to Performance”.
Chief Executive Officer of the Cave Hill School of Business, Dr. Jeanine Comma, believes the conference will provide a forum where the “prevailing and unprecedented challenges being faced globally can be analyzed and discussed openly, with the awareness that there is a need for the knowledge, awareness, ability and business acumen of workers within the public sector to be fully applied and optimized. These qualities and abilities should be harnessed and employed for the future good. Lessons learnt should be preserved for future reference”.
