The Cave Hill School of Business Inc. – The University of the West Indies (CHSB-UWI) and the Department of Government, Sociology and Social Work (Department of GSSW) of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies were pleased to honour twenty (20) participants of the recently completed Certificate in Penology and Criminology course at a presentation ceremony. The official ceremony was hosted at the CHSB Conference facility on Friday, March 4th, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. The successful participants, who received their certificates include nineteen (19) Prison Officers and (1) one Probation Officer. The event featured the Honourable Adriel Brathwaite – Attorney Generaland Minister of Home Affairs, Barbados, as the key-note speaker and Dr. Tennyson Joseph – Head of Department, Government, Sociology and Social Work.
Initially conceptualized for the officers within the Government Service, the second cohort of the Certificate in Penology and Criminology course will be open for application to the general public. Persons desirous of participating in the upcoming cohort can look forward to the commencement of the certificate course in June, 2016.
For twenty-five years the CHSB has been recognized for its high quality and relevant academic and executive development programmes.
